parliament.uk says “The House of Commons and the House of Lords will be on Summer recess between 22 July and 9 October. The Houses of Parliament will return on the 10 October 2005.” Good thing. I’ll be on recess working on community wireless projects for the summer months. I’ll also be visiting WTH05 for meetings with hackers, social engineers and activists. I’ll be blogging again come the political party conference silly season....
“Perhaps I can drag the right hon. Gentleman away from the spat with the Conservative Front-Bench spokesman, fun though it is…” Well, those where her first words of the new parliament… Sarah returns to the House of Commons and continues her efforts at tackling the housing ‘crisis’ in Brent. Those of you who are regular readers of the BELD website will recall her speech of Oct last year in Westminster Hall on this topic....
Sarah and the BELD team must be on holiday. It took a while for the ‘message from Sarah Teather MP’ to appear on Sarah’s websites…No proclamation from the count, no pictures… But some Excel wizard has had the time to create a new ‘can’t win here’ graphic for the website. I never liked the old one… The margin was not large enough.
I’ve been introduced to the musical activism of Warsaw Pack by a friend this last couple of weeks. I’ve got hold of their two albums - Gross Domestic Product and Stocks and Bombs. They rock. Hip-hop, jazz, groove, funk, rock - mixed and blended. And lyrics that cut through the blingtastic, egocentric, soulless celebrity shit that you wade knee-deep in all along Oxford Street. Go visit the website and listen to ‘Attention to Deficit’....
